Russia carried out another wave of attacks on Ukraine this morning, local officials said, just hours before three-way talks aimed at ending the war were set to begin.
In the northern Sumy region, six civilians were injured and buildings and vehicles were damaged, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the regional military administration.
In the southern city of Kherson, at least three people were wounded in Russian strikes, local authorities reported.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy said a Russian drone strike on a vehicle in the Donetsk region killed three power plant employees who were traveling to work.
Meanwhile, Ukraine said it had struck Russia’s Ilsky oil refinery — one of the largest in the country’s south — in an overnight attack. “The target was hit, causing a fire on the premises,” Ukraine’s General Staff said in a statement Tuesday.
The negotiations taking place today mark the third round of talks aimed at reaching a peace agreement to end nearly four years of conflict.
